A clear requirement saves time for everyone and leads to a more accurate quote. You can write it in English, Hindi or Hinglish — the details matter more than the language.
Answer these five questions
- What do you want TallyPrime to do? One sentence is enough to start.
- What should it show or capture? List the columns, fields or details.
- How should it be grouped or filtered? For example by salesman, party, item, godown or date.
- Where should the result appear? Screen, print, Excel, or several.
- Which TallyPrime release and how many users? This affects how the TDL is built and deployed.
An example
“Mujhe salesman wise outstanding report chahiye” becomes: receivables grouped by salesman, then customer; ageing slabs 0–30, 31–60, 61–90 and 90+ days; viewable on screen and exportable to Excel.
The Custom TDL Query page on this site asks these questions for you and prepares a summary you can send on WhatsApp.
